Creat jewelry with laser machine

laser marking machine

The laser processing of materials for the production of jewelry is one of the fundamental prerogatives of the laser systems.
Laser welding, laser marking and cutting make it possible to reach high quality products but not only on today’s jewels. Even on vintage pieces and on costume jewelery. Where the material is of poor quality but where it is possible to make cheap repairs.

The new technologies in support of the goldsmith’s art are available from laser machine.

  • The YAG laser allows to repair, embed, polish and complete objects with precious stones without causing thermal shock and metal withdrawal;
  • With the YAG laser it is possible to weld objects without using soldering alloys which inevitably lead to color variations, with a consequent depreciation of the value;
  • Using our lasers, no finishing and cleaning operations are necessary when finishing the workpiece;
  • Finding a small hole in a final polishing ring can be a problem. But with the laser it can be managed in no time and an invisible repair is easily obtained;
  • Resizing a platinum ring with a junction that leaves no trace is only possible with laser, because it is stronger than any other solder.

What else is it possible to do with laser in jewelry?

  • Assemble pieces with very different thicknesses, for example;
  • It is also possible to assemble pieces made of different alloys such as gold and steel;
  • The YAG laser does not oxidize and makes it possible to recover pieces that have come out with defects from the casting process;
  • Filling an engraving on a piece of jewelry to make a new one is easy, using a wire of the same material by laser welding.

What about jewelry design, since laser has been created?
The way of thinking about jewels has definitely changed, because now they can be made using materials that until recently were not taken into consideration.
The laser is changing the jewelery industry, improving the working conditions of the operators and expanding the possibilities of movement.

In addition to the repair of jewelry with laser, another important part is their marking and cutting for jewelry materials

Beginner’s Guide to engrave the jewelry with laser marking machine-lisa

Beginner’s Guide to engrave the jewelry with laser marking machine

Many people are beginning to pick up jewelry making as a new hobby. Customizing jewelry that you create can make it a truly special gift for anyone. When it comes to customizing the jewelry that you create, the best option is to engrave it. You can engrave any name or message onto rings or pendants. Jewelry store ofen use laser engrave machine for engraving and cutting gold, silver.

A Basic Guide To Jewelry Engraving

Engraving is a simple, yet quick process, but it makes the jewelry priceless. There are different processes that jewelers can choose to engrave their pieces. Understanding engraving and its processes can help you figure out which option is the best. This basic guide will walk you through what engraving is, the different types of engraving, and the different types of materials that you can engrave.

What Exactly Is Engraving?

Engraving is the action of marking the surface of an object in order to create a design on the object. Unlike other types of marking,  when you engrave an object you can feel where the surface marked, Engraving is permanent and more precision.

Engraving processes have become extremely advanced so that most jewelers can easily engrave very complicated, custom designs onto their jewelry. You have the ability to program any custom design that you want into a computer that will then control the engraver to create precise engravings according to the custom design. Because of the computer-controlled process, jewelers can feel confident that their engraving will look exactly the way that they want it to.

Different Kinds of Jewelry Engraving

There are benefits to choosing either rotary engraving or laser engraving for your jewelry engraving. Once you understand more about the different types of engraving. You can figure out the best type of engraving for the jewelry.

Rotary Engraving

Rotary engraving uses a small bit to damage the surface of the object. Any hand engraving is done with a traditional rotary engraving tool. However, there are also mechanical rotary engraving tools where the design is programmed into the computer and then etched onto the surface according to the design that is programmed.

There are some drawbacks however to traditional rotary engraving. While rotary engraving can be very precise, the design of the engraving can only be as thin as the bit itself. Also, the bit itself needs to be replaced when it gets worn out. It also tends to take a little longer to do traditional rotary engraving.

The largest drawback of traditional engraving is that it cannot be used on certain materials. Traditional rotary engraving cannot be used on delicate items that are sensitive to heat or pressure. You will not be able to engrave any jewelry that is made with plastic or glass, because those materials can easily be damaged or broken with rotary engraving.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving uses a high-powered laser beam to etch the surface of the material. Similar to the mechanical rotary engraving machine, just input the design into the software And the machine will engrave the design that you want into the jewelry. However, you can be more precise with a laser engraver because the diameter of the laser can be as thin as you need it to be. Also, the intensity of the laser can determine how deep the engraving will be.

Unlike the traditional rotary engravers, you don’t need to worry about the materials that it can engrave. Laser engravers can be uses for materials that are extremely sensitive, such as paper. While paper is not a common material to make jewelry with. It is good to know that no matter what materials you want to engrave. It’s possible to customize as customers‘ request

Also, unlike rotary engraving, there are fewer accessories, such as drill bits,will need to replace once broken. So if you want to do your own engravings rather than hiring an engraving company, consider a laser engraver as there is much less upkeep than a rotary engraver.

6 Questions to Tinking Of Buying A Laser Engraver-lisa

6 Questions to Tinking Of Buying A Laser Engraver

Laser engravers are a useful tool and it makes sense to purchase one if you use it often enough. If you are considering buying a laser engraver, there are many things that you need to think about. There are a number of options to choose from and there are good reasons to choose one. It is important to weigh the pros and cons of each of the laser engraver before you decide to purchase. Here are some questions that you should ask yourself before you decide to purchase a laser engraver.

1. How Often Will I Use It?

If you only plan on using the laser  once in a while, it may not be the best option to purchase a laser engraver. It may be more cost-effective for you to simply rely on a professional laser engraving service to manage your project. With a professional service, you can just have the company manage your projects for you and you can trust that it will be done properly. However, if you are planning on using your engraver very often, you have to decide which one is best for the kinds of project that you will be working on.

2. Is a Laser Engraver Difficult to Learn How to Use?

If you are worried about learning how to use a laser engraver, that shouldn’t prevent you from buying a laser marking machine. You can use many different kinds of design software with laser, so you may not need to learn how to use a new design software in order to use the machine. Once the system and the laser engraver has been set up it is simple to understand how to use.

3. What Materials Will I Be Engraving?

It’s extremely useful because of the variety of materials that they can engrave. You should think about the different projects that you will be working on and the materials that you are engraving before you choose which laser machine you wish to purchase. Both the Desktop fiber laser and the CO2 Laser engraver have the ability to engrave many different types of materials. Here are the many different materials that can be engraved with a laser engraver.

Metal – Laser engraving on metal can be used for key chains, jewelry, gifts, name tags, and many other applications. The engraving is exact and can be extremely precise. You can use either the Desktop Laser Engraver and the CO2 Laser Engraver to engrave many different types of metals.

Plastic and Rubber – The benefit of using laser engravers instead of a traditional engraver is that you can very precisely engrave plastic without needing to worry about melting the plastic. The CO2 Laser Engraver is the best option for anyone who is planning on engraving on plastic or rubber.

Glass or Crystal – Since glass and crystal are so brittle, they cannot be engraved with a traditional engraver. With a laser engraving machine, you can get permanent, precise engravings that are perfect for awards, trophies, or even wine glasses. The CO2 Laser is the best option for engraving on glass.

Paper – Using a laser to cut paper is an excellent use of a laser engraver. It can be used to create invitations, artwork, and other creative uses. A laser engraving machine can make custom cuts and designs. The  Desktop fiber laser and the CO2 Laser Engraver can both be used to engrave paper.

4. Are There Any Materials that Should Not Be Engraved?

This is something that you definitely need to know before you begin doing engraving. You want to make sure that you are not using the laser marking machine on anything that could potentially damage what you are trying to engrave. Also, certain things could react with the laser and they could be harmful to you. For example, when PVC is cut with a CO2 laser, it can create hydrochloric acid and toxic fumes which are dangerous for you, and less importantly, will corrode the laser  itself. It is important for you to discuss this with the company that you purchase the laser engraving machine from to ensure that you only engrave what is safe and best for you and the laser engraver.

5. What Size of a Laser Engraver Do I Need?

While both the Desktop Laser Engraver and the CO2 Laser Engraver have a compact design, the size of the laser engraver depends on the projects that you will be working on. You will need an engraver that will easily fit in your office space or workshop but will be large enough to handle the projects that you will be working on. If you are working on extremely large projects, you may want to use a professional service. However, if you are working on smaller projects, then either the Desktop fiber laser or the CO2 Laser Engraver will be an excellent option.

6. Where Should I Place My Laser Engraver?

It is a good idea to think about where you will be placing it. You need to make sure that you have enough space in your workshop or office for your laser engraver. And you also need to make sure that it is properly ventilated. It is a good idea to keep your laser engraver about a foot away from any walls or barriers. This ensures that air can circulate through the engraver’s fans and keep the engraver cool throughout the engraving process. You need to also be able to plug it into an outlet that is able to provide the right amount of electricity that the laser engraver needs.

Choosing the Right Laser Engraver for Your Needs

Before deciding which laser you want to purchase, it is important to ask these questions. But also discuss any further questions with the company. Talk to the company about what you are planning on using your engraver for and they should be able to recommend helping you choose the best engraver for your needs. This will ensure that you are completely informed .

7 steps for laser etching anodized aluminum-lisa

7 Steps For Laser Etching Anodized Aluminum

Now that we’ve covered the details of the material and procedures that we’re going to use. Here are the steps that you’ll need to follow to create your own laser etched anodized aluminum project:

  1. Get a hold of some anodize aluminum. You can use sheet metal if you’re making something like a sign. But anodized aluminum objects like flashlights or screwdrivers are also okay. (since)
  2. Our laser etching machines run using high-speed galvanometer technology. The laser engraver works like a computer numerically controlled (CNC) router – it takes designs from your preferred software and translates them into a vector map that tells the laser machine where to cut. Some laser machines run by moving the laser around in a grid, but our galvanometer laser system uses rapidly oscillating mirrors to make precision cuts with remarkable speed. (before)
  3. Now it’s time to get the laser focus on your material. Using the laser machine software on your computer, you’ll be able to adjust the “Z” position of the scanhead, which corresponds to the height. The scanhead has a focusing lens that focuses the laser beam onto the object, and so the “Z” position must be at the right height to focus the beam on the part. The “Z” position to enter into the software is almost always the same as the height or thickness of the part.( but)

  1. Next, you’ll need to get your design ready. The most popular design software options are CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator, so choose the one you’re most comfortable with. You can import an existing design from another program, or draw your own. The important commonality between permissible software options is that they produce vector images. And a file type that is easily translating into usable data by the laser etching system.

  2. Once you’re happy with your design, save it as a vector file and load it into the laser engraving software. You can adjust the power, speed, frequency, and number of passes in the “Material File” in order to obtain different results. You can also load a previous material file that you know gives the results you’re looking for. If you’re not sure which settings will generate the results you want, we recommend that you test your materials under different settings to determine which one produces the results you want.(because)
  3. Close the door of your laser engraving machine and click on “Mark” to start the etching process. You’ll see the high-powered laser activate and the rapidly oscillating mirrors dance in a unique pattern that etches your specific design onto the anodized material you’ve chosen. Whether you’re creating a big project or a small one, galvanometer lasers produce incredibly fast results, etching your anodized aluminum at speeds of up to 2 meters per second.
  4. Once finishing the process , look inside the laser machine and take out your newly laser-etched anodized aluminum project

Ideas For Laser Etching Projects With Anodized Aluminum

Anodized aluminum is a durable and versatile material. And we’ve seen plenty of cool projects mark with the laser etching machine. Here are just a few of our favorites:

  • Promotional Items – High-quality keepsakes can be engraved with the name of your business, organization,. Or special event to create a lasting impression. If your company is hosting a booth at a conference, consider handing out aluminum flashlights or pens with your company logo laser-etched onto them. High-end promotional items are impressive to your prospective clients. They reflect your firm’s attention to detail and the way you value quality.
  • Gifts – Personalized gifts show that you’ve gone the extra mile to create something unique for your special someone. Laser-etched aluminum phone cases, dog tags or other jewelry. And even a nameplate for an office desk are all easily creating with a laser engraving machine and anodized aluminum.
  • Industrial – Laser etching is used to produce permanent markings on a variety of items in manufacturing. For example, a pcs of anodized aluminum car part might have its serial number etching with a laser. This creates a permanent marking that will always be easy to find and read.

Conclusion

Anodized aluminum is a versatile material  in the world. Whether you’re marking parts for manufacturing, promoting a business. Or using your own design to make a gift for someone, laser etching on the anodized aluminum is a cheap. And simple process that produces impressive results.

50w fiber metal marking engraving laser machine-Wendy

50w metal marking engraving laser machine

50w fiber metal marking engraving laser machine.

1.) in the video the laser worksize is 200mm x 200mm?

Yes,cause your size is 146mm,so we use 200*200mm lens to work on this testing.
But actually,your marking content is only the letters,then 110*110mm lens is enough for you.

2.) what are the different between Rraycus and IPG laser, is there some difference in surface / edge after engraving?

From the technology aspect:
The laser beam diameter of IPG is about 6.3nm, Raycus is about 6.6nm,the laser beam will influence the marking edge and surface.
The laser beam is smaller,then the surface is better.From thr theory,it is,but from our eyes to check,it is the same,except we use some microscope to check.

The laser energy of IPG,like 20w,is about o.6mj,for Raycus,is about 0.58mj.The laser energy influence the marking speed and depth.
For example,if you want to do deep enrgaving of 0.5mm on steel, use 20w IPG maybe need 30minutes,Raycus is about 35minutes.
Like 0.1mm depth,it is almost the same speed.

3.) can only a mopa laser black marking on anodized aluminium?

For anodized aluminium,it depends on what effect you want.
If you need mark black color on anodized aluminium,then it must only MOPA can do it.
If you also need 0.1mm depth engraving,then MOPA and Raycus,IPG is the same.

4.) If in the video switch to 30W mopa laser are there the same result, time/speed edge/surface?

Almost the same,but maybe time is a little longer,one more 2minutes, cause MOPA is mainly for color marking,not for deep engraving.

5.) if u switch the lens in the video to 110x110mm is the speed is faster?  and how much.

Yes,of course.The speed will be faster.

Cause when the same laser power, the lens is larger,the laser energy will be expanded,then the laser power will be weaker.
If it is 110*110mm lens,then only engrave the letters,about 5minutes or less.

6.) what a laser can make a gray scale foto on aluminum / stainless steel?Raycus can mark foto on stainless steel,it is easy.

But to introduce the versatility of our fiber laser marking machine.

It has increasingly popularity among American gun lovers.

Fiber laser marking machine not only works well on common advertising signage,but also performs well on the surfaces of guns.
laser enfraving machine
Most of gun lovers treasure guns as precious collections just like some people like to collect watches, antiques.

They can imply their beliefs or life philosophies.

Personalized characters, images or patterns are therefore introduced to enrich the gun’s meaning and decoration.

Laser Engraving is just the machine which we canuse it to engrave permanent symbols on the guns.

Then what on earth a  laser engraving machine can do to customize the appearance of guns?

It’s an easy work actually.

Firstly, we should select and upload a symbol to the software in the connected computer of the fiber laser marker.

Then put the gun on the work table and fix it firmly.

Turn on the machine and just let it do all the rest of engraving work.

The fiber laser head will create a magic work for individual need.

Comparing with traditional marking and enegravingmethods, the  fiber laser marking machine stands higher.

Becasue of more precise marking result, high-efficiency energy consumption and faster speed.

The rotation axis configured on the machine makes it more possible to mark beautiful images on gun barrels and handles. But as a friendly reminder, do not install the bullets in the gun when the fiber laser marking machine are working on it. Otherwise, gun engraving magic will become “engraving attack”.

So please be more careful!
