These suppliers have big difference on machine price. also they use different fiber laser machine parts. We all know Germany is the most advanced country on laser product, many people like Germany product. But we know Germany product is very expensive. many small company in order to absorb customer, they use copy brand parts for machine.

Fiber Laser Machine Parts

For fiber laser marking machine, main parts include laser generator, galvo head, control system and F-theta lens. Laser generator is the most important fiber laser machine parts.

IPG laser source is one of the best brand in laser fields, so many people like it. But its price is very high. So many people use other small brand laser source instead real IPG. They do similar outside shape with IPG then use IPG’s label. Then they sold laser source with very low price and told customer they use IPG laser. Many customer is green hand and have no learning on it and buy this kind of machine.

Actually copy IPG is lower than many Chinese brand, but many green hand don’t know it and think it is real IPG so they buy. But when they get machine, machine have high broken rate and lifetime is very short.

To be honest, it is very easy to check whether it is real IPG laser. Each laser source have one special serial number and we can check it from IPG company. Of course, if one company offer far cheap price then others, also we should think about it.

In China market, the most popular copy parts is control system, include control board and software. We know most standard fiber laser marker use JCZ control system in China market. Actually, large company use copy software. It don’t come from JCZ company and from some small unname company. They will do old version JCZ control board and software then sold to some small company.

How to distinguish copy and original control system

Real control board have serial number and „JCZ“ character on control board. Copy board don’t have it. some board have letter „IPG“.

Additional, copy software can’t update and can’t use original software which download from JCZ website. This is the best solution for customer to distinguish copy software and original software.

Another common copy part is galvo head. Now many small company said they use Scanlab galvo head. Actually nearly no real Scanlab in China market. We communicate with Scablab company before, one real galvo head need more than 3000usd.  So if people said they use Scanlab galvo head, 99% it is fake.

Types of marking machine

Fiber laser marking machine intorduction,first it is the type.

– Desktop marking machine,suitable for sea transportation and easy to operate

-Mini marking machine,more portable and compact,suitable for DHL and air delivery

-Enclosed marking machine,more safety,Class-1 level,when need mark,have to close the window.

Working size

Fiber laser engraver have three common working size, including 110*110mm ; 200*200mm; 300*300mm.

Additional there is some non-common working size like 50*50mm;70*70mm; 150*150mm; 175*175mm; 250*250mm.

Different working size have different focus length, it means large working size have longer focus length. The laser power strength will be weak heavily during transfer. so not all laser power could use all working size.

20w laser power, working size should less than 200*200mm, 110*110mm is the most common.

30w laser power, all working size are ok.

50w laser power, all working size are ok.

Engraving request

We have many different marking request for metal material, marking, deep engraving and gold&silver cutting.

20w laser power: marking

30w laser power: marking, deep engraving and gold&silver cutting 50w laser power; deep engraving and gold&silver cutting
50w fiber laser engraver is not common as its cost is much more higher than 20w and 30w. Usually we use it gold and silver cutting.

Also when we need do deep engraving or cutting, only 110*110mm working size or less is available.

Laser source

Laser source is heart of fiber laser marking machine. So we need pay more attention on laser power.

In China market, Germany IPG and China Raycus laser source is reliable and stable. As for other small brand, we don’t recommend you use it.

1.Auxiliary gas

When cutting Carbon steel, auxiliary gas is only O2.
When cutting Stainless steel, auxiliary gas can be N2 or O2 .
If using O2, cutting edge will be oxydized and not smooth and show black color.
If using N2, cutting effect is very good and smooth.

2.What program stands on remote CNC?

Cypcut software is with laser machine.

3.What is included in a machine?

Fiber laser source, Laser machine bed, Water chiller,PC,Laser cutting head .etc.

4.Exhaust fan is included?

No, exhaust fan is 3kw generally, it is OPTIONAL accessory.Price is 700 USD/set
5.on burning with your laser. how much do I need the air pressure?
N2 13 Mpa             O2 5 Mpa                     Air 13 Mpa

6.Can we cut aluminum 2mm and steel 2mm with just compressed air?If yes what the pressure we need?

Yes, you can no matter it is 1kw IPG or 1.2kw nLIGHT, it can cut 2mm Al or steel.
It need about 1.3MPa pressure

In fact, in theory, if use compressed air to cut aluminium,
it is better effect than N2 or O2. we suggest you to use compressed air.

7.consumption of gases (nitrogen, oxygen) in liters/hour

This depends on the thickness of the cutting material.
NOTE: For example. In China, one bottle of Liquid Oxygen is 50$/bottle.

Standard oxygen or nitrogen gas bottle is 40L/bottle.
1mm Carbon steel 40L/40minutes
2mm Carbon steel 40L/50minutes
3mm Carbon steel 40L/60minutes
4mm Carbon steel 40L/70minutes
5mm Carbon steel 40L/80minutes
6mm Carbon steel 40L/90minute
For carbon steel,
The thicker metal you cut, the less Oxygen pressure you need,
because if use higher Oxygen pressure for thicker metal sheet, it will be burned.
0.5-0.8mm stainless steel 40L/30minutes
1mm stainless steel 40L/30minutes
2mm stainless steel 40L/30minutes
Generally speaking, the thicker metal sheet,the higher Nitrogen pressure it needs.
For example, if cut 1mm ss, use 10kg Nitrogen.
If cut 4mm ss, need 20kg Nitrogen.
But in order to keep high cutting speed for thin metal sheet , such as 1mm.
So we suggest client to adjust same pressure, all of them are 20kg,
in this way, it not only can make sure high speed when cut thin sheet,
but can make sure cutting thick metal sheet.

8.room size, cleanliness, air conditioning etc.

1)Room size : for 1530 machine, size should be at least 6000*7000mm
2)Room should be clean, no dust
3)Room temperature should with 18—25 degress
4)Standard voltage of laser machine in China : 380v or 3 phase, 50 Hz

9.Water chiller

Water Chiller of Fiber laser cutting machine:
Water cooler inside need to add purified water or distilled water
If the quality of pure water is not particularly good, it is recommended to change the water once every 2 weeks.

Good quality water, once a month for water.

10.Consumables of laser head

Fiber laser cutting machine is the most common machine in the market now. We main use it on thin metal cutting, such as stainless steel, mild steel, galvanized sheet etc, but ss and ms is main. Now the lowest power fiber laser cutter is 500w. Its cutting ability reach to 5mm mild steel and 3mm stainless steel.

Now fiber laser main used on ss and ms, only few times we use it cut aluminum and brass. Because these material is high reflective material and it may damage laser source.

  • Plasma cutting machine

Different with fiber laser cutting machine, plasma cutting machine have advantage when cut thick material. No matter stainless steel or mild steel, we can use it cut more than 20mm, 30mm, 40mm even more. Also this kind machine cost is low.

Plasma cutting is not good on thin metal cutting. When we use it cut thin metal, the cutting edge have much slag. We need do second processing to remove the slag then can use these parts. In this case, its precision also is not very well.

  • Press brake

Prass brake have many years factory, also used on most metal processing factory. Now most people who use press brake buy fiber laser cutting machine, as this two machine is complementary.

  • Waterjet

Waterjet is very very old machine, its biggest advantage is it can cut many different kind material, include steel, stone, plastic etc. Also it can cut any thickness. But the biggest probelm is its speed is so low. Additional, it will use many water and have heavy pollution.

Deep marking-“How many depth can the 50w fiber laser marking machine mark on metal?”

Most of our customers also ask this question with deep marking.
We did many test on this and we are professional in this field.
Here we would like to share you some info.
Hope they can be helpful to you.

Material

First,it depends on the material.The commonly used metal are stainless steel,carbon steel and aluminum.
As for these three kinds of metal,ss is easier to do deep marking.According to our experience,it takes about minutes to cut the 1mm ss.But if you want to do deep engraving on it,the ss material will generate high heat.And at the same time,it could change the ss shape.
As for cs,deformation did not occur.it always takes about minutes to mark 1mm. But marking time also depends on the marking text content.
As for Aluminum,it is similar to ss.

Speed

Second,it depends on the speed.when we mention the speed ,we always compare it.For the same depth,the laser power higher,the speed faster.

Depth

Last but not least,based on the theory,if the machine can mark 0.1mm per time(a depth of 0.1mm), then 10 times is 1mm.But in fact,we found that this is not the case.Because after marking on the metal,the material surface will form something like rust(marking waste).And Rust can hinder the following marking.So when we de deep mark,it is neccessary that we mark on time and then clean one time.For laser marking machine,this functin is available.
