Raycus&Max

China famous brand: Raycus and Max Photonics . Raycus is a little expensive than Max Photonics.  while more stable than Max Photonics.

Usually Max to dometic customers. Max Failure rate is higher than Raycus.  i don’t recommend it to you.  may be its price is not high, but it will cost more maintenance fee.

IPG&Raycus

IPG is Germany brand.  very famous fiber laser source in market.  and it’s orginal imported. Raycus brand made in China, quality also stability. We think Raycus is more cost-effective than IPG brand. But some customers very like and trust „made in Germany“, so IPG is optional.

Generally speaking, most of customers prefer to Raycus brand, some customers from European and USA prefer to IPG brand, some customers with tight budget like to choose Max Photonics.

We suggest you to choose Raycus brand first, IPG as optional.

Than this „N-LIGHT laser source“ . differs from the usual laser emitter?N-LIGHT , Raycus, IPG are three popular band laser source in market,Raycus and IPG are for normal metal.  such as carbon steel, stainless steel , galvanized sheet .etc.  not high reflective metal.But some clients want to cut some high reflective metals, such as aluminium, copper, brass, etc.
If use Raycus or IPG to cut high reflective metal, laser source will alarm, and do harm to laser source, because laser beam will return back to laser generator.
But N-LIGHT laser source, it has Back-reflection isolation, so it can not only cut carbon steel, stainless steel , galvanized sheet .etc, not high reflective metal, and  high reflective metals, such as aluminium, copper, brass, etc.

The pump light passes through the core of the single-mode fiber many times. So it has high utilization.

Multimode pump diodes are much more stable than single mode pump diodes. Its geometric wide surface makes the optical power density on the cross section of the laser very low. The current density through the active surface is low as well. In this way, the pump diode has a reliable operating life of more than 100,000 hours.

IPG is a German brand and produced in Russia. It has long service life and high stability. But the price is pretty high.

Single-mode and multi-mode beam quality comparison

In the cutting application, the focused spot has a great influence on the quality of the cut. The core of the single-mode laser is relatively thin and the beam quality is better than multimode. The energy distribution is Gaussian andthe intermediate energy density is the highest and the three-dimensional map is a sharp circle like the shape of the mountain.

 

The core of a multimode laser is coarser than that of a single mode. The energy distribution is smaller than that of a single mode. The three-dimensional image is an average of a single-mode spot. The three-dimensional image is an inverted cup. From the edge steepness, the multimode ratio is steep, comparing to the single mode.

Raycus is the most popular fiber laser source in China market, no matter fiber laser marking machine and fiber laser cutting machine. Also it is the oldest Chinese brand fiber laesr source. and it is the first China brand. It have high quality and stability.

Now not just in China, but also in Europe and USA as most China laser manufacturer promote Raycus laser generator. Compared with IPG laser, its price is much more lower and quality is nearly same quality. It have high cost performance, so it is also very popular in these country.

Raycus laser have good performance on metal cutting, especially on stainless steel and mild steel, also include galvanized sheet, iron sheet.

When laser power lower then 4kw, really it is the best choice.

  • Germany IPG

No doubt IPG is the best fiber laser soruce in the world. Its quality and stability is very high, but its price is also very high. So its market is not big in China market. Only for high power such as 3kw 4kw 5kw 6kw and higher power laser source, it is more popular then other brand.

With IPG laser, it have good cutting performance on stainless steel, mild steel, galvanized sheet cutting.

  • USA nLIGHT

nLIGHT is USA brand fiber laser source, also it have good quality. But its market is not very big in China market as price is more expensive then IPG laser.

Compared with IPG and Raycus laser, nLIGHT laser have big advantage on aluminum cutting. IPG and Raycus have good performance on ordinary metal cutting, such as stainless steel and mild steel. But when cut high reflective material such as aluminum, brass, gold and silver. Other brands can’t do it. nLIGHT laser source have special protective system, so it can cut these high reflective material well.

Except above laser source, also there is several other Chinese brand such as MAX, CAS, JPT etc. These brand laser is some yound China company. Compared with Raycus, their price is lower but stability is also lower then Raycus. So many small suppliers use these brand as price is lower. For some low power less then 1000w, also it have good performance. But for high power, we don’t recommend it.
